Only 8-10 spots available. All levels are welcome!
Codiponte, Tuscany, Italy.
I am thrilled to announce that this May Sisterhood Retreats has created a unique opportunity to explore the beautiful Tuscan region, indulge in the most delicious Italian homemade food, enhance your food & lifestyle photography, and evolve your creativity in an incredible setting in the Tuscan countryside.
Join my amazing team - my wonderful English assistant, Anna Gilchrist, and my dear friends and owners of our stunning retreat location, the Dutch/Italian couple, Maartje Schonefeld and Davide Donati - and me (Sif Orellana), when we embark on this inspiration-packed 5-day ‘Spring in the Rolling Hills of Tuscany’ - Food, Photography & Creative retreat’ in the rolling hills of Tuscany.
We are so excited about this retreat, that covers all the essentials of what it takes to bring your creative vision to fruition and turn your passion into a career. We have put our hearts and souls into creating the most educational, inspiring and eventful program that:
- provides you with tools and know-how on how to propel your photography, food passion, visual storytelling, and your creative ideas forward in the way you’ve been dreaming about
- gives you a unique opportunity to network with colleagues from all over the world
- makes you enjoy authentic edible experiences
- makes you indulge in the exquisite nature of Tuscany
Each day during the retreat, we will have classes, where I will share my experiences and insider's insights within the creative and photographic industry. I will teach you new ways to shoot evocative images and develop new skills to grow as a photographer. High-quality lifestyle photography is tricky, and during our five days together I will teach you the basics about expression, light, trends, composition, editing and camera techniques and give you all the tools needed to bring your visual storytelling and photography to a higher level.
On the day of your arrival, we will welcome you for a 'Meet-and-Greet' with cold spumante in the glasses and delicious Italian snacks made by our talented, food-loving host couple, who cooks all our meals in the farmhouse, based on organic, fresh ingredients, some of them grown in the garden belonging to the farmhouse. After the aperitif, we will serve you a festive Tuscan welcome dinner and celebrate our first night together.
When you wake up in the morning, the loveliest Tuscan breakfast is waiting for you in the courtyard, and in the evening the most delicious homemade Italian meals will be served at a long wooden table at the farmhouse or in the olive yard, based on fresh local products and accompanied by good wine. There will be vegetarian options for every meal, and if you have a food sensitivity we are happy to accommodate it by making special dishes for you. Just let us know at least 14 days in advance of the workshop.
Throughout the retreat, my team and I will invite you on a number of excursions, where we can both shoot stunning lifestyle photos, explore the region and enjoy some good meals. We will invite you on a trip to one the charming villages in the area, where we’ll serve you a delicious lunch at the seaside, while we take in the beautiful view of the sea.
With picnic-baskets in hand we'll take you to a secret picturesque waterfall with the most beautiful crystal blue water, where you are free to take a refreshing dip before we sit down under the shades of the trees and enjoy a delicate outdoor picnic of local specialties, olives, cheese, loaves of bread, Italian treats and more.
Your home for five nights will be in one of two charming stone farmhouses drenched in history and set amongst olive groves and vineyards in the beautiful medieval village of Codiponte in a quiet and unspoiled part of Tuscany. The houses are located within walking distance from one another (15 minutes) and are both characterized by peace and tranquility. Teaching sessions will take place at both places, and our wonderful host couple, Maartje and Davide, have been kind to offer to bring us from one place to another by car - unless we feel like stretching our legs and go there on foot.
The farmhouse where most of our breakfasts, lunches, and dinners will be served - La Concia - belongs to our lovely local host couple, Maartje & Davide, who live there with their daughter Béatrice and run a very treasured B&B, when it is not rented out to us or other workshops providers. It will be our 'headquarter' during the retreat and is a 13th-century Tuscan monastery that has been beautifully renovated and converted into a charming B&B. The house sits on a hill surrounded by olive groves, terraces with olive trees, lavender, wildflowers and fragrant herbs, and offers stunning views over the surrounding rolling hills, the majestic Apuan Alps and the historic village of Codiponte. Next to the farmhouse, there is a vegetable garden, that provides sun-ripened tomatoes and courgettes. There are plenty of shady places to retreat with a good book or to enjoy an afternoon nap. There are 3 single rooms and 2 double rooms in this farmhouse.
From the courtyard, the other ancient farmhouse, that we are lucky to call our home for the five days, can be seen, nestled in the wooded hills. This farmhouse belongs to close friends of Maartje and Davide and has 2 single rooms and 1 double room. If you are an early bird and would like to begin the day with a swim, this farmhouse offers a relaxing swimming pool area, where you can enjoy a dip before breakfast and appreciate the view of mountains.
You have the option to book a single room or a shared double room - depending on when you book and availability. See drop down menu above for prices.
* Shared double room (two separate beds), €2.397 per person
* Single room, €2.597 Euro per person
